I’m a Cornish photographer who has been capturing Astro, Landscape and wildlife images for a long time. With today’s drone technology it has totally transformed the way we work; we can now capture images which were impossible to imagine just eight years ago.
We have two UAVs: the DJI Mavic air 2s, Mavic Pro and Sony A7iiis which are truly amazing machines. We can capture 4K video and HD photographs, for your personal requirements.
We are fully insured and have CAA approval for commercial work.
We are not just a drone Company. We carry out land based photography including time lapse as well to suit your requirements.
The Cornish coastline has been our playground since we were youngsters, we have walked, climbed, swam and probably fished most areas within the county.
We have worked with local companies to provide them with aerial surveys, wedding video or aerial photographs to meet their personal requirements.
We have broken these down in to 5 different categories.

Promoting Safety first
South West Air Media take health and safety very seriously. This is why you should always use a CAA approved company and ask to see proof of their permission for commercial work. Also we are fully insured to carry out your requirements and will guide you through every step of the way.
South West Air Media will do all of the foot work, issuing NOTAMs when required, or contacting local airfields or surrounding properties to ensure we have a safe flight and a safe environment to work in.
It is critical that correct preparation is carried out before any flights can be undertaken. The quicker we are contacted,the quicker we can get to work with assessing the area which the flight will be taking place.

Construction surveys and progress images
South West Air Media, can provide an aerial site survey and progress images for your projects. We have cscs cards and have also completed our five day SMSTS . This can give us quick and safe access to your projects.

We can provide aerial progress photos of your projects as they progress. These can be used for presentations or your progress reports for your records.

The aerial images can give a great aspect to your presentations. These can also be used to show your plant and pedestrian segregation on site and show future Clients' how safely and cleanly your projects are run.

Aerial images can be used for future presentations, on how you work in very tight spaces and how the site is segregated. This can give future clients, the confidence that you are the right contractor to be awarded future works when H&S become a deciding factor on awarding a contract.
High level roof/gutter and barge inspections
We can save you time and money with high level inspections with out the need for expensive scaffolding or hiring MEWPS. We can be set up and take your images within a couple of hours (Site survey completed prior to this) and you can have your images with you by the end of the same day.
Gutter innspections
Gutters can now be surveyed from the ground, reducing the risk of high level activities and the cost associated with it. We can inspect most high level areas (pre site survey and line of site required) and also produce 4K video of our reports.

Construction site Progress
Good quality progress records are an important way of capturing what has been achieved or not as construction continues.
A picture can say a thousand words, especially when trying to sort a final account where delays have occurred on your projects.
CSCS and Site 5 day manager's certification.
Our Pilot holds a CSCS cards and 5 day site manager's certification, this means you can be sure we understand H&S and site operation on your projects. We also produce site specific M/S and R/A which would be presented two weeks prior to our site commencement if required and subject to an earlier site survey, to ensure we can get permission for our aerial imaging for the site in question.
rOOFS BEING INSTALLED
South West Air Media can record high level video or photos of your projects which can be used for your monthly progress meetings or for H&S meetings, final account meetings or even future company advertising brochures.
gROUND WORKS ONGOING
Progression can clearly be seen between these two images over six weeks. This clearly captures where the works has progressed on site.
Ground works
Aerial imaging, offers a whole new perspective of your projects. These images are often used for company board reports on larger projects where directors and board members are not able to visit regularly on all of their contracts.
The Fitzroy Apartments in Falmouth starting to take shape. Our on site Construction photos and aerial shots have been taken at all stages of this fabulous build. Having our CSCS cards enabled us to get in quick with out the need for site supervision.

We also use a Sony a7111 for our land based photography. Anytime or any place we can assist with your requirements. These photos were taken at 3.30am so we could capture the beauty of the Cornish past and the tranquility of the Milky Way.

Features Overview
In this following section we have a couple of Photos of Porthleven Reef in Cornwall firing up. We worked with local surfers to capture the sheer size of the waves and also the ‘Ballsy’ nerve and skills of these surfers.
Feature 1
We had to fly our drone 8 feet above the crest of this wave to get this shot. This took us two batteries to get these amazing shots just as the surfer exits a wall of water and holds his nerve.
Feature 2
This image shows our drone working hard to get as close to the surf action as possible. A good clean down afterwards to get rid of the salt spray and our little fella was ready to go again.

UAV HIRE & PILOT PRICE
Our prices depend on different factors including.
Notifications and planning, complexity of task and the equipment required for the job. It is best to get in touch with us so we can fully understand your requirements and the environment we would be working in.
The prices are for a "regular" photo shoot with no air traffic control issues. The drone used is a Mavic air 2S. The pilot is happy to take direction from the client on-site to ensure the desired objectives are captured. The costs are the same and charges apply to any photos or video etc.
